1920'S Superheterodyne - RUSS' OLD RADIOS

(3 day ago) The Leutz used I.F. transformers made by the following manufactures: E.I.S., RCA (UV-1716), ACME, General Radio The Leutz Model C with Model K Antenna Adaptor from 1924 was a kit. It had the wrong value caps on the IF filter transformer (as found), so it probably did not work very well.

Build the Retro Regen Radio | Nuts & Volts Magazine

(4 day ago) The radio frequency (RF) signal from the antenna (binding post J4) is applied to winding L1 of the spider web-wound coil. Winding L1 inductively couples the RF signal to a second winding L2 that — along with variable capacitor C1 — forms a resonant circuit covering the AM broadcast band (550 to 1600 kHz).

Schematic idea harvesting - The RadioBoard Forums

(2 month ago) Did some good experiments on vintage mixers using schematics from duanesradios.info and bench experiments. For a front end mixer I found that the circuit from the Ultradyne L1/Columbia seems to be a good arrangement, but I found better conversion gain by feeding the plate of the first detector from the plate of the LO.

(8 day ago) I got outbid on a couple things, but I did get the Silver-Marshall three-dialer. It's a Roberts Knockout circuit, and I've always wanted one after reading the purple prose in Radio Broadcast around 1924-1925. I got outbid on the Operadio, and now I wish I had put bids on the M. U. Carl portable, Stewart-Warner 305, and Pfanstiehl, and a couple others.

Want to homebrew a 40-meter superheterodyne receiver. How

(1 month ago) While I wait to find a power supply for my newly acquired Heathkit HW-101, I would really like to homebrew a simple superheterodyne receiver for the 40-meter band (as simple as possible, anyway).

Remler 600 and 610 IF Transformer Data - The RadioBoard Forums

(20 day ago) While reading up on the superhets of the '20s and how they worked, I saw a link to this paper. The author opened up these transformers, showed the innards, and ran some tests on them.
